Physics-Is there a normal force acting on dry ice or hovercraft?
Although it is generally the normal contact force, there is a normal force upward acting on objects such as hovercraft and dry ice, which is not in direct contact with the surface, but remain in the air a small cushion of air underneath?
youre probably not the normal force of law is a contact force which could not even dry ice floats to be honest with you, but the hovercraft float for the same reason, and can fire rockets sent into space to remember the third Newton's law, there is a force equal and opposite forces at all. Why the only note that because the forces of equality does not necessarily the same distance moved depends on the mass of each object's why you need to burn much fuel to launch a rocket and for this reason, essentially, so they push the vehicles air cushion under with a huge amount of force to air molecules can give you an equal and opposite force that can move the hovercraft or off the field. I suppose you could call this normal force between the molecules of air and the hovercraft, but if you feel this way all the forces is a normal force. So for this reason, there is no normal force on the hovercraft. In my opinion, anyway
