Buffalo Bill (WF Cody) and fans of Texas Jack - need help!?
Texas Jack has worked with Cody on his initail shows. When Texas Jack was one of their readers cattle rescued a boy whose parents were killed in an Indian attack. The person who needs info. This child, when he grew up he became a showman in his own right and often used the name of Texas Jack Junior. I think his real name may have been Alf Ashton (not affiliated with the circus). He has worked in Australia for a while and then went to South Africa where he was a partner and possibly Training Will Rogers. There is someone out there has some information about that person - has been associated with my uncle in Australia.
It is an interesting story ... Let me do a little research ... I found a link to attach the Will Rogers-in ... because for a minute. OK ... I somehow hit a brick wall, but I still receive a confirmation Jack rescue stories from a child 4-5 yar under the floor of a house raided by the Indians when they killed the father and mother. Along with links to Will Rogers Texas Jack Jr. But nothing, including his real name is never mentioned. It just sort of took the name "Texas Jack Jr." and stuck with it. But, while pouring over the stories he recounts the names of several authors report on the link below ... Omohundro ... which was the name of Texas Jack's real. Well connected and historians around the right word. Communicate with them and I'm sure you can get the information you want, or at least get you done in the correct direction.
